Cuba, MO – January 4, 2010 – Cuba Development Group, Inc. (CDG) has launched a new website. The site www.gocubamo.com shall be the primarily online resource for news, events, publications, and resources in regard to CDG and its efforts. “This is a core component to the marketing of our community development efforts here in Cuba,” states CDG founder, Mardy Leathers. Leathers goes on to say that “by establishing ‘go cuba mo’ as our tagline and further securing the phrase as our URL we have positioned our marketing efforts to be highly competitive in a very competitive global market.”

Cuba, MO – December 21, 2009 – A new organization has formed in Cuba, Missouri to further the community and economic development efforts in the area. Cuba Development Group, Inc. (CDG) shall be a not for profit [501(c)3] economic and community development group serving Cuba, Missouri and the Crawford County Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ).

Cuba, Missouri Featured in KETC Channel 9 Program

On Tuesday, October 13, 2009 representatives from St. Louis, Missouri PBS affiliate KETC Channel 9 toured Cuba, Missouri and conduct interviews for the program Facing the Mortgage Crisis. Since June 2008, KETC Channel 9 has been helping the St. Louis region face the on-going economic and mortgage crisis by connecting those in need with trusted community resources to help them address or prevent a foreclosure situation and deal with other aspects of the current financial crisis. Creating positive news stories and highlighting the efforts of local communities in the region are key components of this program.

It is the purpose of the Cuba Chamber of Commerce to strive at Advancing the Commercial, Industrial and Civic interests, both existing and new, of Cuba Missouri and surrounding trade area. This Chamber shall be non-partisan, non-sectional, and non–sectarian, and shall take no part in nor lend its influence to the election or appointment of any candidate for state or country or town office. This Chamber is not organized for profit.

The Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce is actively promoting a healthy business climate in Cuba, Mo., which is located about 80 miles southwest of St. Louis on Interstate 44. Over 180 member companies work together to promote economic, small business, organizational, educational, cultural and commercial development sustainability in addition to events of interest to residents and visitors to the city.

The Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce operates the Cuba Visitors Center at 71 Highway P, near the intersection of I-44 and Highway 19. Hours for the Center are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
