Chamber seeks photographers for contest
The Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce is offering an opportunity for area amateur or professional photographers to submit digital images for display on the Chamber’s official website.
We want to develop a seasonal photo gallery for visitors to the site that will display the beauty, events, sites, fun and uniqueness of Cuba and the surrounding area. What better way to build a gallery than to go to those who know the area best?
The winner of each seasonal contest will receive $20 in Cuba Bucks to use at local Chamber of Commerce member businesses. In addition to the Cuba Bucks, the winner’s photograph will be on display on the website and at the Visitor’s Center. Other photo submissions may be added to the gallery but an entry into the contest does not guarantee addition.
The contests will run as follows:
Summer 2009 - June 21 to September 21
Fall 2009 - September 22 to December 20
Winter 2009-2010 - December 21 to March 19
Spring 2010 - March 20 to June 20
Winners will be chosen within a month of the end of each contest period.
Rules
Here’s the image requirements and how to submit your photo. It’s easy!
The image must be submitted to us electronically.
The image must be a Crawford County image and appropriate for display on the Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) official website.
The image size should be cropped 5 X 7 inches and formatted to 300 dpi. (Please be advised that it may be necessary to resize your photo or adjust certain elements of the photo such as brightness, contrast, etc.)
The image must be in JPG or TIFF format.
In an email to photocontest@cubamochamber.com, please include the following information:
Attach your image (see image requirements).
Give your image a title.
Give the approximate date your image was taken. Keep in mind that the date should correspond to the particular seasonal contest you are entering. (Do not submit an image with a date imprinted on the photo as we may choose not to post the image.)
Tell us where in Crawford County your image was taken.
To receive credit for your image, tell us your name and city/town of your residence.

Submittal of your photo does not guarantee publication on the website.
Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered. The Chamber retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content.
If your photo is used, we will not publish your name as a credit if you request us not to do so. The photo will be credited as “anonymous.”
It may be necessary to resize your photo or adjust certain elements of the photo such as brightness, contrast, etc.
Your photo may be used for any future Chamber purposes.
Ownership/Use Rights
Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Do not submit a photo taken by someone other than yourself. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Once you have submitted a photo to the Chamber, it becomes the property of the Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce.
When you submit a photograph to be displayed on the Chamber website, you are agreeing that you will not receive any form of compensation other than a possible first place Cuba Bucks award. The Chamber may retain your photograph for archival purposes. Photos will be credited to the photographer named unless photographer requests anonymity. Photos may be selected for display or use in other Chamber web pages or for other Chamber purposes.
